Israel girds for ‘all-out war' against Hamas
Unperturbed with mounting international criticism, Israel have continued its fiercest air strike in the Hamas dominated areas in Gaza Strip.
Israeli warplanes continued pounding bomb and Islamist militants fired rockets killing three Israelis. The fresh attack on Hamas bases have killed at least 10 Palestinians and wounding 40, the three days of bombing have killed more than 325 and wounded 800 Palestinians.
“We have an all-out war against Hamas and its kind,” Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak told parliament, using a term he has employed in the past to describe a long-term struggle against Israel's Islamist enemies.
Broadening their targets to include the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, Israeli warplanes bombed the Interior Ministry, which supervises 13,000 members of the group's security forces. The building had been evacuated and there were no casualties.
The planes also attacked the homes of two top commanders in Hamas's armed wing.
They were not home, but several family members were among seven dead.

So far for every Israeli Killed about a 100 Palestinian are getting Killed. If this ratio keeps up their wont be to many Palestinian left.

Good math.
at 01:41 on December 30th, 2008
Since the rockets started, 10 Israelis killed, 1,400 Palestinians killed (BBC World).
at 04:12 on December 30th, 2008
How many lions killed and how many Christians? How many whatever. The numbers game. Israel should also have equal number of killed to make it fair. and I thought fuzzy thinking was just in American schools.
at 04:19 on December 30th, 2008
I would say that that is a worrisome argument or statement you are making here tikun.
It is like saying the numbers of people killed in WWII do not matter. What does it matter how many innocent people we kill after all it is just a number game. I am actually chocked.
Hamas leaders are certainly no Angels however Israel Leaders aren't either and both should be broth before an International court and tried for Crimes of War and Crimes against Humanity and the Israeli leaders should maybe even be tried for Genocide.
at 04:36 on December 30th, 2008
We are going to beat this fight against terror with you or without you. No threats of phony "international courts" stacked with judges from countries that are the biggest civil rights violators makes a mockery of truth.
Besides, where have you all been with the genocide in Darfur, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, etc. Where were your voices before. Just SILENCE. This is the hypocrisy that you spread.
at 04:42 on December 30th, 2008
You know that is not true and people have been just as out raged then as they are now. We do have a problem acting since we do have five nations that maintain Veto power, Israel did profit greatly from the US veto's every time the UN tried to do some thing it was hindered by the US. At least as far as Israel and Palestine go. The only hypocrites here are actually the US and Israeli Government to a large extend.
at 04:50 on December 30th, 2008
I am afraid that is not the truth. Thank goodness there was one sane country that understood that terror can not be appeased. You continue to support terrorism and we will all be either dead or living underground from a nuclear disaster. If anyone survives. This is closer to reality every day as Iran continues to develop the bomb. Every country in this part of town is shaking with fear at the prospect as you all continue to live in denial.
BTW, I heard not one of you ask that Sudan be exterminated or at least disbanded because of their awful behavior. Or what about China and their civil rights abuse and mass killings in Tibet. Please spare me the BS and at least be fair and honest.

Let us not also have an assault on the Code of Conduct.
at 05:24 on December 30th, 2008
tikun, you are wrong again and try to spread rumour, Sudan has been heavily criticizes just in the same manner then Israel by the Press and Public opinion, the Sudanese Presidential general Secreter has been arrested in Germany for crimes of Genocide and deported to the Netherlands to stand trial since she believed that the German would not dare arrest her she was misstated, the Government of Sudan did protest and so on. We may have to do the same with Israeli Politician when they travel to Europe. Arrest them and put them on trial for Crimes of War, Genocide and Crimes against Humanity and the same should be done with Hamas as well.
at 05:51 on December 30th, 2008
I think that we should put all of Europe on trial and put them ALL away for there genocide and willingness to allow it to happen. First take care of your own house before you look outside. What hypocrisy. The Netherlands to be judge and jury. What a laugh. No, if not one Israeli stepped foot on European soil it would be fine with me. Not my favorite place considering that it is being over run by extreme elements. Who made you judge and jury. Are your hands clean. I think not. You still did not address the issue of eliminating the State of Sudan like you propose for Israel. And what about China, etc. no answers.
at 05:58 on December 30th, 2008
You are really twisting things around today, is that how desperate Israel is now. Facing the fact that it has become another Stalin Regime or worth.
The International court in the Nether lands is presided by a Canadian and two American Judges as well as many others from around the Globe. The Location is the Netherlands and that all... Those in Europe that have committed Crimes should be put on trial as well, off course. I things some of the worth kind of extremism is being practised by Israel at the moment. Even China does look harmless in comparison.
at 06:13 on December 30th, 2008
Now, Now you really do not know much about Stalin. Loose words. I think that we have ended this round. No ones minds have changed and we just have to see how it plays out.
Israel is practing nothing but engaging in a war. You do not have to agree with it but must at the least see it for what it is.
at 06:31 on December 30th, 2008
It hurts, does it not. It is always hard to face once demons tikun.
Not lose words at all. You know that this is no longer a war as well as I do. Yet we will say any thing to justify once crimes.
at 06:40 on December 30th, 2008
Paschen lets keep this civil and dont tell me what I believe or dont. You cant read my mind. Lets end this nicely. I would prefer that. Nasty is not what we need to do on Now Public. This conversation is over. Go do your thing WE have concluded here.

Is wbsfr8 proposing mass-suicide of Israelis?
at 05:12 on December 30th, 2008
It is interesting that Israel seems to think it is the duty of innocents to get out of the way.
at 05:48 on December 30th, 2008
`wow, violated no "code of conduct" here and was censored anyway. Guess the news is only public if you propose an "accepted" view
at 09:09 on December 30th, 2008
You accused all Palestinians of being murderers did you not (before your offensive comment was removed)? Was that really not a violation of NP's 'code of conduct'?

Israeli patrol boat collides with ship carrying medical supplies, volunteers, human rights advocates and reporters in a successful bid to keep the ship away from Gaza.
Source: cnn.com
Despite eyewitness reports to the contrary, Israeli officials say it is "absurd" that the ship was rammed intentionally. However, Israeli forces were successful in keeping the ship, its supplies and personnel from reaching Gaza.

There is a war going on in case you haven't noticed.
at 06:20 on December 30th, 2008
Please explain how a comment such as that adds to the discussion.
at 06:27 on December 30th, 2008
I think that we have exhausted all the hatred toward Israel and my responses including my sometime attacks. I have no longer any interest to continue this on Now Public. You are set in your mind and this little band of "angry" anti-Israel folks can continue to feed each other. I have too much to do here.
at 09:03 on December 30th, 2008
Ah yes Tikun, we've noticed you're propagandising a war. With the one hand you write here on NP that your state is being so kind, generous and humane as to let aid in. With the other, here in this thread, you negate that and dismiss former Congresswoman McKinney's allegations. (Also reported in The Guardian)
Perhaps you'd be so good as to explain your logic as to what we're supposed to believe?
at 09:42 on December 30th, 2008
poor oli,
I am not progandizing a war I support a war against Hamas. period. McKinney is an Anti-Semite. There really isn't anything to say much more about her. I do think that if you want ME to respond further to your questions come out from behind the veil of (not verified).
at 11:24 on December 30th, 2008
The noble, ever-truthful, so so righteous Tikun now points out to the whole world that ex-Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is an Anti-Semite. Evidence? Code of Conduct?

There are no appropriate words to condemn the killing of innocent people. We as Muslims are responsible for all the atrocities which are being inflicted on us all around the world, there are two main reasons; firstly that we are drifting away from our religion and secondly there is no unity among us.
Where is OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) and so called Arab League today ?, I’m sure the leaders of all the Islamic countries are watching and listening but they wouldn’t take any action because their main objective is to protect their personal interests and not the people.
