Israeli strikes hit UN schools - 40 Palestinians Killed!

From CNN:

The temporary cease-fire will take place in the "whole of the Gaza Strip" from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. (6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET) today, Israeli Defense Ministry spokesman Peter Lerner told CNN.

The three-hour truce is scheduled to take place every other day.

"This is in order to enable replenishing of supplies and allow aid activities," he said.

This action was scheduled to begin after the bloodiest day of attacks by the Israeli Army on the Gaza Strip to date, according to the article.

So Palestinians will only be massacred 21 hours a day every other day?

Did CNN report every other day? BBC throughout yesterday was reporting it would be daily, and on lunchtime news reported that there had been another lull today (Thursday).

Of course UN reps are having to point ut that to mobilise their staff in such a short window is far from easy, etc, and there have been witness reports that food, water and fuel are still extremely scarce.

It's sad it's not permanent...

Pretty tough for any wounded to run across the Strip and line up outside a clinic awaiting sub-minimal supplies in a 3-hour window. Shooting ducks in a barrel, and pausing so the dead ducks can be removed and not litter or obscure more ducks in the cross-hairs a few hours later, and allow assessment of targets and manouveur tanks without opposition fire for more killing of Gazan children.

This headline is grotesque.
