The one-time spy and Israeli minister Rafi Eitan says Tel Aviv might kidnap Iran's President Ahmadinejad over his anti-Israel remarks.

In an interview with DER SPIEGEL, the former Mossad agent said 'the era of hunting down old Nazis is over, but that's not to say that such [kidnapping] operations are completely a thing of the past.'

"A man like Ahmadinejad who threatens genocide has to be brought for trial in The Hague. And all options are open in terms of how he should be brought," said Eitan.

Israel considers Iran a threat to its existence and security after alleged statements by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that 'Israel should be wiped off the map'.

Under such pretext, Tel Aviv has made numerous threats against the Islamic Republic.

Iran, however, has repeatedly stated that President Ahmadinejad's remarks were grossly mistranslated and taken out of context.

In a July press conference after a D8 summit in Kuala Lumpur, President Ahmadinejad said 'Iran has no plans to attack Israel', adding that 'the illegal regime would disintegrate on its own'.

When Eitan was asked if he was serious about kidnapping the Iranian president, he said 'absolutely'.

The Mossad agent's remarks come after a July report confirmed that four Iranian diplomats kidnapped on July 4, 1982 were still alive and in Israeli prisons.

Ahmad Motevaselian, Seyyed Mohsen Mousavi, Taghi Rastegar Moghadam and Kazem Akhavan were reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint by Phalangists in northern Lebanon and later handed over to the Israeli army.

rahul, I like this story. It's good stuff. Be good if you added something from yourself too rather than just the highlighted story. Here's some more:

Mossad - the Israeli inteligence service - were practising 'rendition' when the rest of the world thought it was a word was something describing what a singer gave of a song. Here we see one of the old guard suggesting that Israel should kidknap Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

An Israeli cabinet minister has suggested Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could be kidnapped by Israel over threats he has made against the country.

Former spy Rafi Eitan was involved in the operation to kidnap Nazi mastermind Adolf Eichmann and bring him to trial.

Ahmadinejad is feared and reviled in Israel because of his repeated calls to wipe the Jewish state off the map. His aggressive pursuit of nuclear technology has only fueled Israel's fears.

"A man like Ahmadinejad who threatens genocide has to be brought for trial in The Hague," seat of the international war crimes tribunal, Eitan said today. "And all options are open in terms of how he should be brought."

Asked if kidnapping was acceptable, Eitan replied, "Yes. Any way to bring him for trial in The Hague is a possibility."

nice one but...

Israel considers Iran as a threat to its existence and security!
to think that the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad  is the actual threat is like thinking that bush invaded Iraq !, soon to come obama/Mackain and then? still a u.s matter when bush is replaced

"A man like Ahmadinejad who threatens genocide has to be brought for trial in The Hague,"
probebly so - will this make it all go away?
,Ahmadinejad  is a pupet,a strong one but still controled by the extream, and most likely replacble

"Asked if kidnapping was acceptable, Eitan replied, "Yes. Any way to bring him for trial in The Hague is a possibility."

again may be so-
personaly i think now that eitan is leading the elderly ritierd party
in the up coming elections, he is relating him self to ambivelent news ,no diferent then any other political figure
