Israel's Security Cabinet will vote Saturday night on an Egyptian proposal for a truce to end the 3-week-old offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers, a senior government official said.

The official said a vote to approve the truce would amount to a "unilateral" cease-fire, though Israeli forces would only leave Gaza after an official declaration that the fighting was over. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information.

"I hope we are entering the endgame and that our goal of sustained and durable quiet in the south is about to be attained," Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said earlier Friday.

The truce would begin a phased process in which Israel stops the assault and gauges the reaction from Hamas militants. Israel would resume the offensive if the militants continue to fire rockets, the government official said.

Yes end as planned, just prior to the Obama Inauguration. This converges with the boost the US dollar and the Israel currency tied to the dollar, and along with it boost treasuries, bonds, stocks and bank confidence. As if in a film, all the real Palestinian children and families were massacred like Manga characters in a grostesque dictated cinema script. Who would have ever guessed!

The horror film script conjured by the US and Israeli warmonger moguls is also substantiated by the miraculous allowance of CNN and international reporters only today being invited by Israel to enter and take up camera positions to 'shoot' the compassionate exodus of the IDF from Gaza with the certain suttitles of 'yes, we have not attained our goal but we simply could not endanger the poor Palestinian civilians being used as human shields any longer.'

Are we not already here online in a post-ciname age, seeing through old 'cinema and war' dream machinery?

Israel's 'victory' will be a unilateral ceasefire and a photo opp for Tipsy Wotsit. Will it be in the dying days of the Bush administration, or is their bread buttered such that it will be in the first days of Obama's? And when and how will they choose to break it again?

Just remember 158, Hamas terrorism apologists will find a way to blame Israel 100 times out of 100. These are people with an agenda, and it's crystal clear what that agenda is.

On a side note, the Anti-Israeli gang's new angle of attack is 'Zionism.' Have you noticed how 'Zionism' has cropped up recently as a de facto negative spin on Israel....

I try to not take sides in this but, yes, Zionist, Nazi, colonialist, and worse are used to label Israel.

The basic fact is Israel is ready for a true cease fire, no attacks by either side across the border. Israel would respect that but many on the other side want Israel to cease fire while they "struggle" "oppose occupation" and "liberate Palesatinian land"-Israel.

I see wrongs by Israel but they are the only party willing to live in peace within recogized and unviolated borders.
