Israeli troops have clashed with Palestinian protesters in Gaza and west bank as they mark what they call the Nakba or Catastrophe, when hundreds of thousands lost their homes after the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. In Gaza at least 15 people were reported to have been injured by machine guns and tank shells fired Israeli troops. In a similar incidence on Israel's border with Lebanon more than 10 people are said to have been injured by gunfire. In the occupied Golan Heights in Northern Israel, there are reports of Israeli military opening fire on Palestinian refugees who have breach the border from Syria, unconfirmed sources said four deaths were recorded and at least 10 people have been injured.
