Israel's new Prime Minister-delegate Benjamin Netanyahu inked his second coalition deal while he waited for the centre-left Labour party to decide whether they want to join his cabinet.

After weeks of negotiations Netanyahu inched closer to his April 3 deadline to form a government in Israel.

An agreement between Netanyahu's right-wing Likud and the ultra-Orthodox Shas was reached overnight following several weeks of intensive negotiations, officials said.

The religious party will have the interior, housing and religious affairs ministries, as well as a minister without portfolio.

The move brings Netanyahu one step closer to forming a government following last week's signing of a deal with the ultra-nationalist Yisrael Beitenu party led by firebrand Avigdor Lieberman, due to become foreign minister.

We will see. This is no done deal yet. this kind of government doesn't stand a chance in hell surviving if it actually becomes a reality. They need 61 seats to have a majority. Only 53 as of today.
