It Is Time For Equality Now

Cases of human rights abuses are a growing problem. I would like to highlight the case of Kobra Najjar, an Iranian woman sentenced to death in her home country. Kobra's crime ? Suffering domestic violence at the hands of her, late, heroin addict husband, who forced her into prostitution; she has been charged with adultery. Kobra has already spent 8 years in prison charged as an accessory to her husbands murder. He, in turn, was murdered by a "client" of Kobra's who sympathised with her plight. He is now free after also serving 8 years. The Koran says that no sin is upon a woman if she is forced to commit an illegal sexual act.
