NBC's "30 Rock" was honored for the third time as best comedy series at the Emmy awards. Alec Baldwin won his second award as best comedy actor. Baldwin stars on the show as Jack Donaghy, abudinsky network executive at TGS. The comedy series takes place  as a behind the scenes view of a TV variety show.

"Mad Men" maintained their winning streak with an award for best drama trophy for a second time.

Glenn Close’s stunning performance as a merciless trial attorney on the FX show “Damages” was recognized with top drama series acting Emmy, a consecutive second for the multi-dimensional actress. Close called it a “huge privilege” to be part of the entertainment community. This is her third career Emmy award.

Australian Toni Collette of Showtime's "United States of Tara" was honored with best lead actress in a comedy series for her role as a mother with multiple personalities. "Wow, this is insanely confronting," Collette was quoted as saying.
