Ambience:  It was a night of adrenaline-soaked high-power rock, with a lot of Sophistication and Style…..Energetic, Magical, and Glamorous. Head banging and moss pitting made it a true blue rock night for Morrison lovers

Þ     Jack Daniel’s, the iconic all American whiskey brand, continues to take Indian rock to the International stage. Friday night witnessed the build-up to the 4th Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards for 2008 with a tribute to the legendary Jim Morrisonfeaturing Delhi’s 20 rock musicians on stage.

 

Þ     The pulsating evening saw Amrit Kiran Singh, the Area Director & VP, Brown-Forman, play the gracious host along with his beautiful wife Farah, Radhakrishnan Nair, Editor and Head of Rolling Stone in India and Luke Kenny. Other celebrities seen enjoying the music were Luke Kenny, Sam & Shivangi Lal of Riff,Sonalika Sahay, Vasuki, Anchal Oberoi, Head of American Express,K.L. Muralidhara, Developer,Prodipta Sen of Alpha G:Corpand Prema Sagar among others.

 

Þ     The concert featured some of the capital’s finest musicians as they celebrated the iconic rocker’s birthday which falls on 8th December. Singer, DJ and actor Luke Kenny, a diehard Morrison fan, hosted the event and also performed a few tracks. The menu for the evening: JD, Music and Cake.

 

Þ     Luke Kenny, along with a band comprised of Gaurav Chintamani (Guitar), Reuben Narain (Drums), Anindo Bose (Keyboards), Gaurav Balani  and Clarence (Bass), Suchet Malhotra (Percussions), along with Vocalists Michelle Lobo, Ashhar Farooqui, Aditi Singh Sharma, Prithwish and Dhaval Mudgal paid a fabulous musical tribute to Jim Morrison at Elevate.

 

Þ     Delhi’s rock and rollers were seen enjoying the music, losing total control and indulging in severe head banging.

Till this point rock music in India was confined to the university campus. With credible partners such as Rolling Stones and VH1 joining hands with us to create synergy, the Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards is all set to becoming a major event in the Indian music scene.”
