That's the way it is, the absolute weapon of demonstration.Hunger strike is one of the most potent weapon of showing dissatisfaction with the authority. And the US Iranian Reporter is using this weapon of disobedience to prove her innocence. Her father says that she is on her 5th day of hunger strike and confident to continue it till she gets justice.

A U.S.-Iranian reporter jailed by Tehran for espionage has gone on hunger strike, her father said on Saturday.

Reza Saberi said his daughter Roxana had called from prison to say she was on her fifth day of hunger strike and would continue to refuse food until she was released from jail.

"She's not eating anything ... I'm very worried," he told Reuters. Judging by her voice, "she seems to be weak," Reza Saberi said.

Roxana Saberi, 31, was sentenced on April 18 on charges of spying for the United States, in a verdict that could complicate Washington's efforts toward reconciliation with the Islamic Republic after three decades of mutual mistrust.

IMHO, they'll either force-feed her or let her die.  I hope she's released, but nothing would surprise me anymore.

Let.s hope they consider her more valuable alive then dead.  I.d hate to see a young woman like this to die over buying a bottle of wine.  I suppose a hunger strike is her only weapon.   She would probably not win an appeal.

Hunger strike against the Iranian government?!! I am very very worried.

Hunger strike is ok to be used in the western countries. Even in India, where Ghandi championed Hunger Strike, there is no value to this method. India let Thileepan, an LTTE cadet, who went on hunger strike to ask for Tamils rights in Sri Lanka after 1987 "peace" accord by India to die in his protest; India never bother to do anything about it. He died in his hunger strike.

US should do something to save its own citizen trapped in a atrocious jail cell for no good reason.

Where is Obama in all of this?!! I think he needs provide leadership at least for his own people.

We don't know what they are feeding her. One man's meat is another man's poison. Hopefully she will stay alive on water, as NP's Jarrett reported Mia Farrow plans to.

She should eat, the only way to ever beat injustice is to stay strong, if you eat you stay strong and battle hard........Alive.

The verdict on 31-year-old Roxana Saberi, a former US beauty queen, is the harshest sentence ever meted out to a dual national on security charges in Iran

Thanks all for healthy comments, but she is doing her best to expose the Iranian government by using most simple and effective weapon of non violence.

Hope Iranian Govt will have some mercy on her and let her go.
