CCTV footage from the lobby of Jakarta, Indonesia's Ritz-Carlton Hotel, showing one of the suspected bombers, was aired on several local television stations before getting picked up by western outlets. The footage depicts a man carrying a suitcase into the lobby and out of the frame, just an instant before an explosion tears through the area covered by the camera. Two people were killed in the Ritz-Carlton blast, while seven were killed in the Mariott blast.
The flickering footage from the second floor of the luxury hotel showed the large open doorway to the restaurant erupting with glass, debris and smoke as the bomb was detonated inside.
The closed-circuit television footage, aired on local TV One station, showed the man wearing a suit and baseball cap walking awkwardly into the restaurant before the blast around 8:00 am (0100 GMT).
