James Magee was sentenced to the death penalty today for the 2007 killings of his wife Andrienne Magee and their five-year-old son Zach Magee.

When the verdict was read in court James Magee collapsed. He was convicted on Saturday of the shooting deaths of his 28-year-old wife Andrienne and their son on April 18, 2007 in Mandeville in the Tall Timbers subdivision.

He was convicted for the attempted murder of their other children, Ashleigh, 8 and Aleisha, 7 as well.

Assistant District Attorney Scott Gardner, who spearheaded the prosecution, said the verdict "gives voice to the victims."
