James Wenneker von Brunn, 88, has been identified as the suspect in the shooting at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC on June 10.

He is a known white supremacist and has ties to many hate groups.

James Von Brunn was born in 1920 in Maryland, and has multiple connections to hate groups or anti-government groups.

It has been reported that von Brunn walked in to the Holocaust Museum this morning, and exchanged fire with security guards inside the museum. One security guard and von Brunn are both in hospital.

James Wenneker von Brunn is currently in critical condition.

D.C. police spokeswoman Traci Hughes said the suspect walked into the museum at about 1 p.m. ET with a rifle and shot a guard. U.S. Park Police Sgt. David Schlosser says one or more guards at the museum returned fire, hitting the suspect.

James Wenneker Von Brunn is well known as a racist and is known for being anti-Semitic.

He has been investigated for hate crimes in the past.

In 1981 he attempted to place the Federal Board of Governors under citizens arrest and was originally sentenced to eleven years in jail.

Von Brunn was tried and convicted by a Washington, D.C. kangaroo court; then sentenced to eleven years in federal prison by Judge Harriet Rosen Taylor; the sentence was confirmed by a racially motivated Appeals Court. Von Brunn was imprisoned for 6.5-years.

Von Brunn champions Western Culture,and the practice of Eugenics. He states that Marxism-Multiculturalism-Judaism is the Enemy of Mankind.citing Talmudic quotes to "Kill the Best Gentiles !"

When he was tried in court he described being "convicted by a Negro jury, Jew/Negro attorneys, and sentenced to prison for eleven years by a Jew judge"

Von Brunn is the author of a book called 'Kill the Best Gentiles' The first six chapters of his book are available for free for download from his website.

Von Brunn holds a BachSci Journalism degree from a mid-Western university where he was president of SAE and played varsity football.
During WWII he served as PT-Boat captain, Lt. USNR, receiving a Commendation and four battle stars. For twenty years he was an advertising executive and film-producer in New York City. He is a member of Mensa, the high-IQ society.

It is thought that Wenneker Von Brunn served as a PT-Boat captain in WWII and earned four battle stars and a Commendation Ribbon. He know describes himself as a writer / artist.

A sympathizer, Elena Haskins on 'White Pride World Wide' stated on the forum that von Brunn has had his house burned down for publishing books that says the Jews are hostile to their financial interests and that he was placed in jail due to his refusal to submit to tyranny.

In an excerpt from his book 'Kill the Best Gentiles' he describes how he feels about Jews:

JEWS have no religious scruples regarding money where goyim are concerned. They now have the means to carry out their war of annihilation of the West. They would not surface as a fighting unit and openly attack their hated enemy. They remained invisible. Their strategy was to organize the entire JEWISH People into a Fifth Column whose purpose is to penetrate the West and destroy everything. This is being accomplished by exacerbating natural disputes between the Western States and influencing the results in favor of Liberalism as opposed to Authority; that is, materialism, free trade and usury, as opposed to Western Socialism; Internationalism as opposed to Western unity. MONEY was their sword and buckler. Hate and revenge their motif.

Do you have a source for him being born in Maryland?

I thought he was born in Missouri based on what I could find on ancestry.com. I'm trying to track down any record of his WW2 military service. Here's what I have, but no military records yet :

Some additional information on James von Brunn who apparently, did not see himself a citizen of the US, but rather the leader of his Aryan white supremacist group.

"He is in our files going back way into the 1980s," said Heidi Beirich, a researcher for the Montgomery, Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center. "He has an extremely long history with neo-Nazis and white supremacists. He's written extremely incendiary publications raging about Jews, blacks and the like."

But by the late 1970s, Beirich told CNN, he had become a "hardcore neo-Nazi" and an associate of William Pierce -- the white supremacist leader whose 1978 book, "The Turner Diaries," is blamed for inspiring Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

Online writings said to be Von Brunn's claim the Holocaust was a hoax and lambast a Jewish conspiracy to "destroy the white gene pool."

"At Auschwitz the 'Holocaust' myth became Reality, and Germany, cultural gem of the West, became a pariah among world nations," the writings say.

Navy records show Von Brunn enlisted in 1942 as an apprentice seaman before accepting an appointment as a naval midshipmen in the volunteer reserves in March 1943. On his application for enlistment, the 21-year-old listed his reason for signing up as "patriotic." His records show he had language qualifications in both English and French after spending three years in college. He was discharged from the Navy in 1956.

Could this be a case of veteran neglect Syndrome?

He seems to be eaten up by his anger and hate that turned into an malicious illness affecting his brain.

examiner.com has an interesting look at von Brunn's cyberfootprint...the information he leaves behind on the internet. It includes some things I haven't seen elsewhere, like his arrest for beating up a sheriff in Maryland, or his claim to have been a captain of a PT boat. There's also a sort of movie-starish publicity photo of him from the 1960's.
