James Wernke, the California State Long Beach baseball player who went missing over the weekend has been found dead in a creek in Fullerton California today.

The body of James Wernke was disovered in the creek at about 10am this morning in a steep ravine near where he was seen walking his girlfriend's dog on Saturday. There was no sign of trauma to the body and police right now are saying it looks like Wernke fell in to the creek bed by accident.

James Wernke was just 21-years-old and was a nursing major at Santa Ana College who had also just won a baseball scholarship at California State Long Beach. The dog he was walking is still missing as well.

The coroner's office must make a formal identification.
