NP Rank:
Japan - Mt Fuji climb and visiting the underground ice caves.
I climbed Japan's highest mountain "Mt.Fuji" with shorts, boots, a t-shirt, a bottle of water and a Mars Bar. What was I thinking at first - but at the end it was no problem mostly because i became numb from the cold - until the sun rose early in the morning. We took the train to the mountain.
Mount Fuji (Fujisan) is 3776 meters - Japan's highest mountain. It is almost a perfectly shaped volcano and has been treated as a sacred mountain and is very popular for world travelers. People from all over world were there climbing Fuji-san.
We started at 6:30 pm from the fifth station and arrived at the top at 1:00 am an elevation of 3,776 metres (12,388 ft).
I also picked up a traditional souvenir - a climbing aid - a Japanese Mt Fuji walking stick and a Mt Fuji blue cap.
It was awesome and a peaceful journey seeing the breathtaking views and at the same time a dangerous experience standing on the edge of the cliffs; well worth the trip. "Your are wise to climb Fuji once and a fool to climb it twice."
See Mt Fuji and the underground Ice caves near the bottom of Mt Fuji - Fuji Ice Cave, Japan also the waterfalls.
( ps. I dont know the name of the waterfall or the ice caves.)

DAMIRworld, I like this story. It's good stuff. I used to check the mail with no shirt and bare feet when i live in Alaska.. during -30 degree weather. I could handle it for about 4 minutes. Thankfully I never locked myself out.
