Jazmine Thompson: Memorial for Murdered Cheerleader

Jazmine Thompson, a 17-year-old cheerleader who was murdered last week, will be honored at a memorial at Bayshore High School today. ESPN commentatior Dick Vitale also lives in Bayshore, and is helping the family with Jazmine Thompson's burial expenses. Jazmine Thompson was shot to death when a man approached the car in which Jazmin Thompson sat with her friends and opened fire.

Daniel Williams was charged with the second-degree murder of Jazmine Thompson after turning himself in at the Manatee County Sheriff's Office on September 5. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

Jasmine Thompson was just starting her senior year at Bayshore High School, where she was a cheerleader.  She wanted to study law and become a defense attorney.  But that won't happen.  Thompson died Friday night after she was shot while sitting in a car.

Dick Vitale also put $2000 towards a scholarship fund in Jazmine Thompson's name.
