Jean Biden Funeral In Wilmington, Delaware: Live Stream
The funeral for Catherina Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan-Biden, the mother of Vice President Joe Biden, was held today at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Jean Biden died at the age of 92 on January 8. The 11 AM public service drew a crowd of 700 people. A private burial service was held for the family after the public funeral. Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton and many other dignitaries were in attendance at the funeral. The appearance of the U.S. President at the funeral caused heightened security in the area.
There will be no parking available at the church this morning. Shuttle buses will be provided from the University of Delaware's Wilmington Campus at Pennsylvania and Greenhill avenues beginning at 9 a.m.
DelDOT said delays are expected on Pennsylvania Avenue, Delaware Avenue, Concord Pike (U.S. 202), Foulk Road, Weldin Road and Shipley Road.
Security officers will not allow mourners to bring handbags, bookbags, backpacks, purses, food or beverages, tobacco products, personal grooming items (such as makeup or lotion), strollers, any pointed objects, aerosol containers, cameras, video recorders or umbrellas.
