Jenni-Lyn Watson Found Dead: Ex Steven M. Pieper Arrested
Jenni-Lyn Watson's Ex-Boyfriend Steven M. Pieper, 21, Has Been Arrested and Charged With Murder
Authorities have charged the young man after discovering a body believed to be that of Jenni-Lyn Watson earlier today.
The couple had been involved in an on-again off-again relationship and Watson tried to break off the union in early October, which Syracuse.com says Pieper did not take well.
Fitzpatrick said that authorities believe Watson was removed from her parent's home by Pieper Friday Nov. 19, and very shortly after, "dumped, frankly like garbage," in Clay Central Park.
"We do not believe she left that house alive," Fitzpatrick said.
Pieper has a minor police record but nothing serious.
Watson was last seen November 19 at her family home, but when she did not return home by 9pm that night, her family reported her missing. The search for Watson has lasted 8 days and has now come to a tragic end.
Over 60 police and search and rescue officers were out looking this morning and the remains were found in a heavily wooded area around Clay Central Park.
“It appears whoever put her there attempted to conceal her presence there,” Fitzpatrick said. “It appears she was laid flat and covered up with vegetation.”
