Florida Lieutenant Gov. Jennifer Carroll Denies Lesbian Affair with Beatriz Ramos

Carletha Cole, a former senior program analyst for the state of Florida has accused Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll of having an affair with Beatriz Ramos, one of her aides.

For what it's worth, Carletha Cole passed a polygraph test when she described the moment at which she allegedly walked in on Jennifer Carroll and Beatriz Ramos engaged in oral sex in Carroll's office. (Polygraph tests are not the most reliable things in the world.)

As for Beatriz Ramos photos, there aren't any online, at least not yet. Not much is known about her, except for her skill in starting trashcan fires (see below). Update: scratch that. a photo of Beatriz Ramos has emerged, via Gawker.

Carletha Cole is currently in a PR battle with Jennifer Carroll: Cole was a whistleblower in a misconduct scandal, and is charged with leaking an illegally-recorded conversation. Cole says that Carroll's office regularly records conversations illegally.

Cole says that Jennifer Carroll in carrying out a personal vendetta against her after she had complained to the Florida Times-Union about the goings-on in Carroll's office.

Beatriz Ramos admitted setting Carletha Cole's office trash can on fire, a move that could have burned down the Florida State Capitol Building. The incident was swept under the rug, but it will surely emerge again.

As for Jennifer Carroll, her dismissal of Cole's allegations was somewhat bizarre: ""The problem is that when you have these accusations that come out, it's not just one person you're attacking. It's an entire family. My husband doesn't want to hear that. He knows the type of woman I am. I mean, my kids know the type of woman I am. For twenty-nine years—I'm the one that's married for twenty-nine years. The accuser is the one that’s been single for a long time. So usually black women that look like me don't engage in relationships like that."

So, Carroll doesn't think that black women can be lesbians, or she doesn't think that married women can be lesbians? It doesn't make too much sense either way, but surely she'll be cornered into clarifying that statement.
