How is Jesus really described in the Bible? How does Jesus describe himself? In the book of Matthew: 19: 16 - 17 "And behold, one came and said unto him, "good master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" And he said unto him, "why callest thou me good? (there is) none good but one, (i.e.) God, but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." matthew 23 9 "and call no man father upon the earth: for one is your father which is in heaven" Matthew 24 36 "but of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my father only". Matthew 14 23 "and when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray" . If Jesus is God or a part of God then why did he pray? I will be paying my respects to jesus this christmas, happy holidays whoever you are.

If you don't mind, I'd like to talk to you about what you've written. Jesus is God. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. I believe that three incarnations of God were created as a reference to us on Earth so that we could understand better what God has done.
Most people will use the following verse to prove that Jesus is God:
John 1:1-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ ” From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,,who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
The Bible even shows us that the Pharisee knew that Jesus was God, but that they didn't want to admit it.
Mark 11:27-33
They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him.
“By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?” Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
John's baptism–was it from heaven, or from men? Tell me!” 31 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn't you believe him?’
But if we say, ‘From men’....” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)
So they answered Jesus, “We don't know.” Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
If Jesus isn't God, then his sacrifice means nothing. He has to be fully man and fully God for us to truly be forgiven for our sins.
Do with this what you will. I hoped it helps you understand just a little better. It sure helped me.
