Jewish sources: Vandals set north Turkey synagogue ablaze

Vandals set a synagogue in North Turkey ablaze on Sunday, sources within Turkey's Jewish community have reported.

No one was apparently wounded in the attack. The extent of property damage caused has yet to be fully assessed.

The incident came amid a rift between Israel and Turkey that was sparked by fierce Turkish censure of Israel's offensive in Hamas-ruled Gaza.
