The DHL Shipping Facility At JFK Airport Was Evacuated Wednesday Evening As a Precaution While Authorities Checked Packages From Yemen

According to NBC New York, the packages arrived at the DHL building on the same Emirates Airlines Boeing 777 that caused a previous flight to be escorted into the airport by F-15 fighter jets.

The packages were checked on Monday and then cleared on Tuesday, but when they were rechecked by Customs and Border Patrol Agents on Wednesday, one of them caused an 'alert'.

So at about 5:45pm, the bomb squad technicians were called to the DHL building and it was evacuated as a precaution.

As of 7 p.m., the one suspicious package had not yet been fully evaluated, sources said.
