JK Rowling to Testify in Phone Hacking Enquiry
JK Rowling Given 'Core Participant' Status in Phone Hacking Hearings
The News International phone hacking scandal now involves Harry Potter. Has the phone hacking scandal gotten your attention again? Good. Harry Potter author JK Rowling will be testifying as part of Lord Justice Leveson's phone hacking enquiry.
Other core participants include Hugh Grant, Sienna Miller, Sheryl Gascoigne (ex-wife of Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne), and the family of Millie Dowler.
JK Rowling was given "core participant" status in the hearings, which means that she is believed to be among the 46 celebrities whose phones may have been hacked by News International employees.
James Murdoch Summoned to Parliament Again
News International CEO James Murdoch is getting called before Parliament again, since his previous testimony has basically proven to be untrue. Despite his and his father's best efforts, James Murdoch's future in News Corp. is not looking bright: Rupert Murdoch is more concerned with maintaining his empire than defending his son, when push comes to shove (which it seems to be doing now).
Meanwhile, News Corp. is being sued by shareholders and victims alike.
