Joe Biden's Motorcade Involved In A Traffic Accident In NYC

The motorcade of Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a car accident in New York City late last night. Biden was making an appearence on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and his motorcade was escorted across the city by undercover police cars to avoid traffic jams. One of the cars in the police entourage collided with a livery cab. Four people were injured. Biden himself was not in the car that crashed.

This is a third car accident in week involving Joe Biden's motorcade. The first happened on November 11 when a pedestrian was struck and killed by Secret Service employees accompanying Biden's motorcade in Maryland. Just this Monday, a New Mexico Sheriff's Deputy who was escorting Biden's motorcade was hit by a woman bypassing police cars involved in Biden's entourage.

The vice president was in downtown New York for a taping of satirical news program The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where he made no reference to the incident, though he acknowledged that having the street cleared ahead of his motorcade was a welcome vice-presidential perk.

"Hell, I've never driven in New York with no traffic before," he said.
