John Caudle: 14-Year-Old Kills Parents Over List of Chores

Shocking!  How did a 14 year old get access to two guns?  Young Turks said it best, "kids are stupid, that's why you don't keep guns around!"

The parents are responsible for their own deaths. How does a 14-year-old have access to their gun safe? I suppose as long as there are guns these kinds of crimes will continue. But I'm forgetting, guns don't kill people, children do? The parents were also responsible for his upbringing and training and failed or at least refused to believe they had an unbalanced child. Or maybe they had and he was on some weird medicine. It's wrong to charge him as an adult and I hope this will change before the court case. There is no link to the original story, why?

Obviously, this is not about "chores". This is about someone treated very badly, badly enough to want to kill his parents.

Access to guns is very, very secondary here.

countries which ban fire arms, especially hand guns have much lower rates of crime involving death by guns. We only have to remember the killings in schools and work places.

This stuff about guns being locked up is BS, so you're telling me that if I had access to a gun at the age of 14 I'd shoot my own mum after having an argument? This kid is screwed up, if not guns maybe he'd have used knives or something else. People scream straigh away : he must have been abused, poor kid cos his parents are divorced. BS! Playing video games all night with his parents dead on a floor, laying in a pool of blood? Being happy and chatty next day at school? I blame those video games . His head is messed up because of them, he is not realistic at all. He is living in the unrealsitic world of video games, when you kill someone and then they become alive again !He is not right either,  he possess a lack of love and selfishness , at  14 he should be more morally responsible!

its too bad that for the kid to feel happy his parents had to be dead. some personalities just don't mesh like a kid and their parent, but there is definetely something unbalanced in his brain chemistry in order for him to kill his parents without remorse, no matter how much he disliked them. especially at 14, a psych check should be done before he is criminally punished, it actually wouldn't be fair.

He could be a sociopath, being that he jus went to school the next day like nothin happen and was happy about it. But its a shame that it wasnt caught earlier that he had problems smh. Such a sad thing

I am a liberal through and through but I blame the shooter himself.  14 years old is plenty old enough to know the difference between right and wrong and he just didn't give a damn about his mom or his stepdad.  I don't buy the "it wasn't about chores, it must have been about him being treated badly" argument at all.  Sure, there are lots of parents who abuse their kids but this doesn't sound like one of those cases.  I don't think someone who killed his parents because he had been treated badly would act like he did afterward.  There are evil people in this world and he sounds like one of them.  What the hell does liberalism have to do with this?  Some people will take any situation and turn it into a foaming at the mouth rant against liberals.   I think it is hilarious that people like Liberal H8ter and sorry dude seem to think they are somehow better than other people when it is clear from their posts that they are just idiots.

ok, so i am a liberal. but i agree guns dont kill people. this kid was sick. i do blame the video games. they can mess you up at that age when the brain is not mature yet. i think he should be made to do chores for the rest of his life. death penalty is too easy a way out.

I'm from Poland and I really don't understand why do YOU (Americans) keep a gun at your homes? This is the reason, why things like that happens. We also have many problems with kids, pathological families and so on, and if we gave them a gun, they would probably kill each other in a while! So in my opinion, the access to gun is the main problem.PS. Sorry for my English
