John F. Kennedy Assassination Anniversary: November 22 1963
It is the John F. Kennedy assassination anniversary on Sunday November 22nd, as then President JFK was killed on Friday November 22nd 1963. Everyone remembers where they were when they heard of the assassination of JFK; it seems to be one of those defining moments in history.
John F. Kennedy was the thirty-fifth President of the United States and it was on that Friday November 22nd, that he was riding in a motorcade with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy when he was fatally shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, who was murdered before he could stand trial for the crime. His assassination is still a subject of debate however, and many believe Oswald was not to blame.
Just before 12:30 p.m. CST, Kennedy’s limousine entered Dealey Plaza and slowly approached the Texas School Book Depository. Nellie Connally, then the First Lady of Texas, turned around to Kennedy, who was sitting behind her, and commented, "Mr. President, you can't say Dallas doesn't love you," which President Kennedy acknowledged.[4][5]
It was just after the President's limo passed the Depository in Dealey Plaza that many witnesses said they heard three clear shots.
Presdient Kennedy was shot in the head and it was later confirmed that was the shot that killed him.
JFK was rushed to Parkland Hospital, but he was declared moribund and at around 1pm, all heart activity had ceased and President Kennedy was pronounced dead. It was shortly after 2pm that Kennedy's body was driven to Air Force One, where it was placed at the rear of the passenger area. A forensic examination was not conducted on the President's body, which violated Texas state law.
Vice-President Johnson was sworn in to office at 2:38pm on board Air Force One.
An autopsy was conducted on JFK at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington DC that night. His body was brought back to the White House for a private and then a public viewing at the Capitol, where hundreds of thousands of people lined up for hours to pay their respects.
John F. Kennedy's funeral was held on November 25th and he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Do you remember where you were when you heard Kennedy was assassinated?

He was the best spirited, though not around long enough to build a portfolio. I think Lyndon Johnson was a good President, but like Obama, he inherited a very bad war. Jimmy Carter was a smart Presdent, though he could not muster a government to govern, sort of like Obama.
Kennedy's death shut down the country as we were so captivated by our beloved President who gave us hope and direction after years on the golf course with Ike.

This is one of the most horrifying days in American History As I have matured I have changed my views on President Kenney's presidency many times. There are a lot of questions about the assination that nobody seems to be answering. 1.) Why did the Secret Service back off from running along with the President which can be seen in the films just seconds before the assination? 2.) Why didn't the Presidint's limosine take evasive action on the first shoot. These are very scary questions, but they need to be answered. My deepest thoughts and prays go out to the Kennedy family. My heart always has a deep wound on this day for your family and all Americans. May God have mercy on us all. God bless

I was sitting in my 7th grade classroom. I wasn't "into" politics then, and still am not, but what a sad time that was! If ever there was a time when the earth stood still, it was that day and the days that followed. Time came to a screeching halt. It hit me a lot harder than 911 did, probably due to being younger then and considering the time period it happened in.

The assassination of President Kennedy was the beginning of the end of the road for America.

In this once great nation we decide an election by the ballot not the bullet! It was a dark day in US History when the above happened. Strangely instead of the left being indicted what happened was rather bizarre. No longer were kids allowed to play with cap pistols and bb guns and an all out war began against the second amendment! A what if of history! On April 10th of that fateful year a character tells his wife that he had just taken a shot at former Major General Edwin A.Walker and missed! His wife ,instead of informing the police or at least a shrink, just lectured Lee on manners and let it go..how sad! All of this was revealed at the Warren commission hearings the following year..if she had only told someone in law enforcement maybe this madman would not have been allowed to be on duty at the time of the cavalcade and free to do his foul deed!.Its somewhat like Lincoln choosing the secular holiday (the surrender of Fort Sumter over the religious ,Good Friday and thus going to the theatre that friday nite)this alsol changed history for a white supremist became president and thus the KKK and its terrorism was unleashed on a helpless South).the what ifs of history.....Nino

I was in 5th grade. We were performing a play. I was Patrick Henry, giving his speech, when the principle called all the teachers to the office. 20 minutes later, they came back and gave us the news. We all went home and watched those B&W teevees for the next 5 days. It was like the entire earth stopped for a while. The only thing like that since then, was 9/11. Had the same kind of un-reality about it.

I feel quite ill when I watch the footage. JFK's head was blown off, yet still 46 years later the culprits have not been either named or found. The world lost a great leader, America lost its soul. God bless Jack, Bobby and Ted and rest in PEACE.

This was a tragic day. The death of JFK was reported in Manitoba just after 1pm. I was at work and of course the story was all over CBCs network that evening after work. This is a dark day in history.

Murder, plain and simple, AND there are still some of those who are behind the assassination that are still alive today, sitting smugly and THEY should be tried for murder,in a real unbiased tribunal that knows the facts. Follow the money and who was guarding the money at that time??-the Treasury and who was security around the Treasury-the Secret Service-FOLLOW THE MONEY! Remember what happened to Caesar and Caligula.Yes,it was murder in plain daylight and those responsible can still be tried for homicide, and uh,just out of curiosoty's sake, where was George Herbert Walker Bush on that day, and Richard Milhous Nixon(but of course he's dead now),but Bush Sr. is still around and I'm sure that maybe a handful of the Secret Service Agents that worked that day are still with us today. Let's do something about this before the book is ultimately closed on this conspiracy. Thank you.

Higol, Read "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner and you will no longer believe it was a conspiracy.

I was in Spanish class in High School-I remember it very well although I did not snap to what had really happened for at least 10 years-but we were innocent back then! Having lived through 1968, the year of Assassinations and 911 I am quite cynical about any government explanation-especially about the 'collapse' of the Twin towers-hydrocarbons-kerosene-the fuel in jet planes-do not detonate-they deflagrate and NOT at temps hot enough to melt steel!Nixon was in Dallas that day-HW Bush is the only man in the universe who cannot recall where he was-yeah right! and what was W Bush doing the day the last Kennedy-John John was killed in a crash in 99?Too bad I didn't take the Blue Pill! I think Nidal Hassan is just another in a long line of patsies, aimed at changing our foreign policy and bringing on the Fascism-and the Fascists are de-cloaking at present! If he had not gone 'nuts' and fired up on Nov. 5-Guy Fawkes Day-the best known patsy of them all so far I might have beleived the 'story'-but like the towers-the forensics-100 bullets/-don't match! BTW, it's an interesitng fact that Bush's ancestor-Thomas Percy (Barbara is descended from Franklin Pierce-part of the gang mentioned by Lincoln in his 'House Divided ' speech-our first murdered president) was the agent provacatuer for King James and Lord Cecil in the famous Gunpowder Plot.Meanwhile the Xtian Reich-like 'The Family' of C Street are trying to establish a theocracy and prohibit freedom of Conscience-banned by Justinian in 551 CE and only restored in the Bill of Rights in 1789. If they get ahold of the government completely-it is time to leave. As Max said to the chief Blue Meanie-Argentina?Fight the Black Magicians!
