JFK Quoted at "Islamophobia" Trial at BC Human Rights Tribunal
by jr

John F. Kennedy was quoted in defense of free speech in closing arguments on Friday at the BC Human Rights Tribunal in Vancouver.  MacLeans magazine is accused of making Muslims the target of "hatred and contempt" and "Islamophobia" with their 2006 cover article, "Why the Future Belongs to Islam", an excerpt from Mark Steyn's book, America Alone.

Defense lawyer, Julian Porter summed up MacLean's publication of Steyn's opinions as, "It's what journalism does for liberty”.

It was at this point that he imitated John F. Kennedy's Boston accent as he quoted him: “Loss of liberty brings a long, clear road to Cuba!”
