John McCain due in New Orleans Thursday

Now that John McCain had locked in the Republican Presidential nomination, he's planning to visit New Orleans on Thursday just before JazzFest opens.

He's planning to tour the Lower 9th ward with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, then take questions from the public at a town hall meeting at Loyola University. Later McCain travels to Baton Rouge for a fund-raising event. His previous visits to New Orleans and Louisiana were only to raise money

According to his campaign spokesman, McCain will reveal his "vision for the region's continued recovery."
