John Murtha, Dem. Congressman, Hospitalised in ICU

Democratic Congressman John Murtha, 77, is currently in the intensive care unit at a Virginia hospital after complications from a gallbladder surgery last week. The Congressman's spokesman, Matt Mazonkey, confirmed, "Congressman Murtha underwent a scheduled laparoscopic surgery to remove his gallbladder last week, complications did arise from the surgery and he is currently at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington."

Murtha scheduled to have his gallbladder removed after suffering from pains in December; the organ was removed last week at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

No details regarding the complications were revealed.
