Joran Van Der Sloot Update: Peru Police Report Shares New Details
Joran Van Der Sloot Could Face Formal Charges For Stephany Flores' Murder As Early As June 9
Now that Peruvian police have said they have received a full confession from Joran Van Der Sloot admitting that he killed Stephany Flores, he could be charged for her murder as early as Wednesday June 9.
He still has to take part in a re-enactment for police of the night that Flores was killed; it was supposed to take place on June 8 but the hotel could not be cleared and the re-enactement was delayed due to security reasons. Police are hoping they can clear the entire floor of Hotel Tac where Flores was found dead and Van Der Sloot was staying so that they can work without any interruptions.

Peru police say that Van Der Sloot told them he had gone to get some coffee, leaving Flores in his room, and when he returned he found her looking at some information on a website on his laptop, and that information was related to the Natalee Holloway case. According to his confession at one point Flores wanted to leave and that is when they started arguing. She then slapped him, he hit her back and that is when he started beating her. CNN reports that Van Der Sloot said he was high on marijuana when the incident happened.
Although Flores' body was found half-dressed, there was no evidence that she had sexual intercourse that night, the source said.
Leaked Police Report Provides New Details About Hours Leading Up to Flores' Murder
Someone called the Hotel Tac looking for Van Der Sloot at about 11pm on June 1. The hotel desk manager forwarded the call to his room, but says no one picked up. The room key was not at the desk, and the hotel employee assumed Van Der Sloot was sleeping.
This same desk worker noticed about an hour later that Van Der Sloot owed money for two nights at the hotel so she went up to his room and knocked on the door. This would have been about midnight. She said she could hear the television was really loud, but no one answered the door either.
She was the one who found Flores' body on the floor of Van Der Sloot's room, when a supervisor told her a short time later to go back to the room and enter using a spare key. She says she found Flores dressed in a black t-shirt and red underwear and she had bled from her nose. A piece of white cloth was partially covering her body. She immediately alerted her supervisor and police.
Van Der Sloot is currently being held in prison in Peru.
