Jose Alfonso Aviles, 45, Has Been Charged With Capital Murder After Killing His Daughter's Girlfriend and Her Mother, Norma Hurtado, and Maria Hurtado, in Austin on Monday April 18

Aviles was said to be upset that his daughter was in a relationship witha woman. His daughter had been dating Norma Hurtado, 24, for a few months, according to statesman.com. That relationship had been a source of feuding between the two families.

The daughter told police that she was “in a lesbian relationship which her father did not approve of.”

Aviles, with another Hispanic man, who has not been identified at this time, went to the home of Hurtado and her mother, and after knocking on the door, shot both women who died at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing two men running away from the scene, and Aviles was arrested in Bexar County by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday morning.
