Josef Fritzl has been convicted of incest, rape, false imprisonment, coersion, and murder by negligence, and the verdict is in: a life sentence in a psychiatric institution, but his first stop is Mittersteig prison for assessment.

Fritzl has waived his right to appeal.
The jury at St Pölten court sentenced him to life after finding him guilty on all counts – of negligent murder, enslavement, incest, rape, coercion and false imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a psychiatric institution, his lawyer said.
Court authorities said that the life sentence would entail a minimum of 15 years in prison.
In handing down the sentence, the jury was not swayed by his last-minute admission of guilt to the murder-by-neglect charge.
Whatever the reason, Fritzl will be off the streets for the rest of his life.

He imprisons his daughter for over 20 years, but only gets minimum of 15.... Doesn't add up. But then I guess he will be dead by then. I hope his children/grandchildren will be able to move on, and not become like him.

Such an old man, jail will mean nothing to this man as he won't naturally live much longer.
Sometimes, just jail time doesn't cut it.

He is not in jail, he is just in a mental institution. Nice bed, nice garden where he can walk, nice treatment... you know, he is sick and he has to get better.
Legal system sucks, you only need to say you are mentally ill to avoid going to jail. Not even with a life sentence you will spend the rest of your life in prison.
I can't believe he could be outside of the bars in just 15 years!

He should be SHOT... even that is too good for this sick pervert, How can people do this to family members, sadly he is not the first and wont be the last. Prison might of been better than going to a hospital for the insane, at least in prison he might of got the shit knocked out of him. In stead he will be feed good food, aloud to walk the grounds, justice stinks. He should be locked in solitary confinement and forgotten about. I feel sorry for his daughter, she has my blessing...They say his mother did not want him but, thats no excuse. I feel very angry and upset as to what this barstard has done.
