Journalist who covered Schapelle Corby case arrested on drug charges, faces 20 years

Peter Lloyd, an Australian Broadcasting Commission journalist who made a name for himself with his  dramatic coverage of the Schapelle Corby drug trial, is tonight detained in a Singapore prison facing charges of trafficking and possessing a controlled drug.

If convicted, Lloyd faces up to 20 years jail and five to 15 lashes with a cane.

THE ABC's news director will travel to Singapore early this week to seek answers from South Asia correspondent Peter Lloyd following his arrest last Thursday.
