Julia Corker, Daughter of Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, Carjacked
Julia Corker, the daughter of the Senator of Tennessee Bob Corker, has been carjacked in Washington D.C. on Wednesday night. The 22-year-old Corker was pulled from her car, grabbed by the neck and thrown to the ground after she rolled her window for somebody she thought needed help. The attackers than drove away in Corker's car. But, with the help of the onboard OnStar system, the suspects were tracked down and taken into custody.
Senator Corker issued a statement saying his daughter was ok, but still aching from the incident. It is not clear if the carjacking was random or targeted. There are no speculations as to whether the carjacking could have been related to Senator Corker's work. There are some reports saying the police believe the attack was random, however.
Senator Corker is very grateful that Julia was not seriously injured, that those who committed the crime were quickly apprehended, and he is extremely appreciative to the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, the Capitol Police, the FBI, and the Seat Pleasant Police Department for their quick response and professionalism.
