Julie Schenecker Murder: Mother Shoots 2 Kids For Being 'Mouthy'
Tampa Police Arrested Julie Schenecker For Shooting Her Two Teenage Children. Schenecker Claims She Shot Her Two Kids Because They Were Talking Back
Julie Schenecker of Florida was arrested for shooting her two children because they talked back.
Tampa police arrested Julie Schenecker Friday on two counts of first-degree murder.
A Tampa police spokesperson told media that Julie Schenecker claims she killed her 13-year-old son Powers Schenecker and 16-year-old daughter Calyx Schenecker because "they were mouthy."
Tampa Police claim they received a call from the concerned mother of Julie Schenecker. Officers arrived on the scene to find Schenecker covered in blood.
In the garage, police found Powers shot in the side of the head. In an upstairs room, Calyx was found dead at a computer. There did not appear to have been a struggle, police said.
"It appears that the children never saw it coming," McElroy said.
Father Parker Schenecker is currently in Qatar serving in the US military.
Update: Reuters is reporting that Julie Schenecker has been sent to hospital for evaluation.

Stoning might be a bit harsh. I wanted to taser both of mine on occassion, but eventually all that happened was they picked their butts up off the floor. Hey, it was good enough for me.

The bible clearly says that children not only can be but MUST be STONED TO DEATH if they are disobedient. So she was doing what God wants.

You haven't read the Bible? It's in there. Deuteronomy. Buy you asswipes do what you always do... ignore the parts that become socially uncomfortable and keep the parts that allow you to control others. In 1000 years your weakness will yield a society of Muslims... like it or not, they don't go around changing the book they claim to love. With Christians, it's just a "suggestion."

J Smith is an idiot. He is totally ignorant of Christian Doctrine. The Old Testament is important but it's more like an historical document. The New Testament supercedes the Old and Jesus was obviously no fan of stoning anyone at all. Get your head out of your ass and try to act like you have some sense.

Where does it say that the Savior claims the New Testament supercedes the old. On many many occassions he quoted the Old Testament, both from the Laws and the Prophets. When he was ressurected and walking with the two men he hadnt revealed himself to, he said "o fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets had spoken.......And beginning at the Law and the Prophets , He expounded to them in all the things concerning Himself" Luke 24:25 & 27. He also said if you would enter life or even come to perfection like the Father , you were to keep all the Laws (some call them the Laws of Moses) but they are in fact the laws given by the Heavenly Father. Even the Apostles attested to that and studied the prophecies, so how can the one supercede the other????? And yes stoning was a judgement but not one that a person just leant on their own understanding and decides to stone who they wanted to. Matters had to be investigated and witnesses brought forth first. Sounds like none of you Christians get very deep into your bibles, you need a true, prophesied of Teacher for that. check out www.yahweh.com The Two Witnesses have been Found!!!!

Wait, we have a rare treat here. J Smith is an expert on ancient Jewish law and therefore has much to teach us.Doctor Smith, please give us a working definition of when children would be stoned in these cases. How such a trial would be investigated, who would conduct it, how sentence would be passed and how the penalty would be administered. We are waiting, Doctor Smith...

This is a statement I will stand behind you on - in part. There are parts of the Bible that get ignored by the religion called christianity/catholicism, which is nothing at all like the one faith of the original apostles in the Bible. Christianity/catholicism is a man made religion that has been used to control and hurt people both Jew & gentile since the first century. They do not bare resemblence to Yeshua or His followers. The reason christians find this subject of local government stoning chronically rebellious and drunken offspring uncomfortable is becasue they are taught that the instructions of G-d (Torah) have been done away with and that their new "god" is not like the old G-d of the Tenakh (aka "Old Testament") Of course that is not the case. G-d does not change and his word doesn't change. We can't pick & choose. Even you see that. What you miss is that those laws were only in effect in His land, Yisra'el. They should be in effect now but they are not. He instructs us to follow the laws of our land we are living in (which isn't governed by His Torah). Since we live in America, we must follow the laws of our of government so this cannot be legally done. Here we kill our innocent, late term babies at the "doctor's office" for no reason...rather than bringing our continuously rebellious and drunken progeny before local government for punishment of their guilt like you find in Deuteronomy 18.

I must clarify - when I said "What you miss is that those laws were only in effect in His land, Yisra'el. They should be in effect now but they are not" by "those laws", I was not referring to the entire Torah, only to the particular law concerning local government stoning chronically rebellious and drunken children, not the Torah in it's entirety.

I highly doubt religion has anything to do with anything. There are just as many crazy Anti-Christians as there are crazy Bible loving Christians out there. Apparently, there is also a category for Bible loving Christians in denial.

Actually, we Catholics hold closest to scripture than any Protestant religion. The Catholic faith is the oldest Christian faith and is passed down directly from Christ to Peter.

Are you crazy! Most of what the Pedophile, oops, I mean Catholic church preaches is not in Scripture. Mary is dead, so don't pray to her. She was a servant of Christ and had several children after giving birth to Jesus...hence, she did not die a virgin. There is no such thing as a saint as catholics teach. Saint is simply another word to desribe the followers of Christ. If you read any of Paul's letters (Ephesians, etc) you see that they were addressed to the saints living in Ephesus, etc. Several times throughout the last 2000 years there was more than one pope and they excommunicated each other. Popes are not infallible, only Jesus is. Several Popes in history were as crooked as they come. Penance was the greatest fundraising activity in the history of the world. It's what paid for the building of the Vatican...one of the grossest displays of ill-gotten wealth the world has known. The Catholic church is a joke. Praise God He moved Martin Luther to lead the Reformation.

You are a sick person. I am a practicing Catholic and you haven't a clue about anything to do with the Catholic Church. Crawl back under your rock... There are many pedophiles in all churches and everywhere in the world, just because the news mainly reports the ones in the Catholic Church doesn't mean that they are not in other denominations...

If you go by the scriptures, why is it that Jesus is still a baby in a manger? Jesus is ruling in Heaven, he is not still a baby! Also, why do they have homosexuals in church? The Bible clearly states that "men who lie with men" will not inherit God's Kingdom.

It is so clear to me, that you have never been to a Catholic Mass in your life. You might want to go to one and see what it's about before you start putting it down. I recomend you read: Home Sweet Rome by Scott Hahn ;)

Protestantism grew from a protest cult against Christianity that was, at the time, represented by the Roman Church. Christianity may be a joke to you, that's your business. If you want to follow a political figure like Luther and make that your religion, go for it.

Actually calvinists are about the only religeous group who actually follow the teachings of the king james bible. I also agree that it would be much better to get your kid stoned 9with weed0 than shoot them in the head. Or better yet.. get yourself stoned. Muslims are losers and so are catholics. You're welcome!

Actually you are a false religion, no where in the bible does it say to pray to Mary, a priest can NOT forgive your sins, and you can not work your way into heaven, no limbo or purgatory or pope. The catholic church has caused more people to end up in hell then any other.

First of all, Catholics don't pray TO Mary. We ask for her prayers on our behalf and why wouldn't we? Do you remember Jesus' first miracle at the wedding in Cana? Jesus turned the water into wine because Mary asked him to. He loves His Mother and so we ask Her to intercede and ask for His help on our behalf. Nothing wrong with that.Second, Jesus did provide for the forgiveness of sins through priests (Jesus works through the priests -- it is not in their power alone to forgive). John 20:21 "He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained."Third, go back and read the Epistle of St. James and you'll find that the Bible clearly states that faith without works is dead. Fourth, regarding Purgatory, Protestants don't understand it because much of the Biblical evidence for it was lost to them when Martin Luther removed seven books from the Bible when he translated it in the 1500's. Maccabees was one of the books that was removed and it contains many of the writings from which our belief in Purgatory is derived. Find a real Bible with Maccabees in it and you may begin to understand.I feel sorry for Protestants because your faith is flawed and incomplete. Nobody is perfect -- not even the Pope -- but if you don't even have a complete knowledge of the Bible and Jesus' teachings, how can you be so confident in your salvation? I think it's sad how many Protestants say mean and disrespectful things about the Blessed Mother. One could never really begin to address your lack of knowledge in a short piece like this, but I highly suggest that you study the Catholic church before you attempt to discredit us.
