I believe that if you do the crime you need to do the time.  Why should these people be pardoned?  If you or I had used out power or influence to effect money markets or influence government or even lie to congress (in the case of Roger Clemens) would we get a pardon?
As an average person who lives from paycheck to paycheck, without resources to buy my way out of trouble, the idea of this offends me.
The only person on this list who perhaps has a valid request is U.S.-born Taliban foot soldier John Walker Lindh at least he might have been ideologically motivated to do what he did.
In the end I say leave them in the situation they created for themselves.

Associated Press - November 29, 2008 5:33 AM ET

WASHINGTON (AP) - More than 2,000 people are asking President George W. Bush to pardon them or commute their prison terms before he leaves office.

Junk-bond king Michael Milken, media mogul Conrad Black and U.S.-born Taliban foot soldier John Walker Lindh have all applied for official forgiveness from the Justice Department.

The list could also include people not yet charged like former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales or baseball's Roger Clemens.

The Justice Department is also considering applications for shorter prison terms from former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif., and four-term Democratic Louisiana Gov. Edwin W. Edwards.

So far, Bush has issued 171 pardons and eight commutations. That's less than half as many as President Bill Clinton or President Ronald Reagan issued.

A Washington lawyer says Bush will likely issue two more rounds of pardons: right before Christmas, as is customary, and just before he leaves office. The White House has declined to comment.

Nice Introduction here and yes I would second this Opinion.

Some one stealing Food because they are starving can be pardon, some one breaking in to a house because they are freezing to death and need shelter can be pardon, however some one that caused millions to be out of jobs or that caused a wars around the globe and had millions killed even though the international community urged for peace and diplomacy can not be pardon ever.

Bush asked already for pardon in his new refugee camp paraguay (300.000 ha farm) with his new ally The Moonies (one died already in an aircraft accident). Bush should also forgive Albright Horse thieves company insider business division Hedge fund  (http://www.albrightcapital.com ). Anyway he will be chased out by local moscitos, using the dengue fever wapon. P.S.: Should we forgive ourselfs sometimes too, or are we the victims of Bush, and continue to pay for nonsense credit mortgages with no bailout feature. How stupid can citizens be?

I agree with Paschen 100% . Never should they be pardoned for crimes that cause war and take lives.
