TEN TERRORISTS caused all the mayhem it has been revealed today, of which nine are dead and one - from Pakistan - captured.  Three gunman's bodies were recovered from the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

It is believed the terrorists had lived in the city for a month before the sustained assault.

The SUN newspaper is claiming today that TWO of the gunmen are British Pakistanis from Leeds, while the DAILY MIRROR claims that SEVEN were British and came from Leeds, Bradford and Hartlepool and trained at Pakistani terrors camps, and connects them to the 7/7 suicide bombers in London.

Just 10 militants, the city’s police commissioner suggested Saturday, had caused all the mayhem.

“With confidence I can say that 10 terrorists came in,” said the commissioner, Hasan Gafoor. “We killed nine of them and one was captured alive.”

His comments were confirmed by Mr. Deshmukh, although it remained unclear whether they might have been referring to 10 attackers coming in by sea to join accomplices who, according to unconfirmed local news reports, might have embedded themselves in Mumbai days before the attacks. Investigations were ongoing Saturday night.

A senior Mumbai police inspector, Nagappa R. Mali, identified the captured suspect as a 21-year-old Pakistani man, Ajmal Amir Kasab. Mr. Mali said the man had a fourth-grade education and worked as a laborer.

Four other suspected terrorists were at the morgue at the JJ Hospital in Mumbai. Officials there put their ages between 20 and 25. All four were males.

Around dawn on Saturday, gunfire began to rattle inside the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, one of about a dozen sites that the militants attacked in their rampage beginning Wednesday night. The terrorists never issued any manifestoes or made any demands, and it seemed clear from their stubborn resistance at the Taj that they intended to fight to the last.

It wasn’t long before flames were

Only 10 militant, and yet they started a bush fire that may engulf millions.

I have learnt that Indian officials stated the 'Pakistani' terrorist belonged to Faridkot but interestingly Faridkot is in the Indian state of Punjab and not in Pakistan?

just like there are 2 Punjabs - there are 2 Faridkots. One in Pakistan. Coordinates: 30° 16' 30" North, 71° 57' 30" East.

I hope you have also learned a few more things from the Mumbai attack. Innocent people lost their lives because of the pathetic mantra called Islam.

Hello Man

What you are taking about religion and Islam, dont forget what your Indian Army done with Gujrat, it was not just killing they raped more than 200 ladies, I think these kind of army should be blasted.

reshmi

that was pathetic indeed samei. we humans have lost our dignity and sense of responsibility. its not about islam / hindu / christian. its only about sensible and non-sensible people. the only sad part is many terrorists that surfaced used islam as a reason to scar the human race.

Hello Hussain,

no offense intended. but instead of pointing out Indian faults i would appreciate if you could take steps against terrorism. it is in this fight between us that we forget to focus on the real culprits. our enemy is not India or Pakistan. It is the common man vs the terrorists. Lets do our bit to end terror in the minds of our and coming generations.

I agree with you, "reshmi".

I think the Indian military did a great job catching the murderers.

the gun men could have been intercepted if the state and centr govt  had taken the military intelligence notice seriously

That sounds all too familiar.

I seriously doubt that only 10 did this much damage. They obviously had good plans, undoubtedly including escapes.

reshmi

yes Rene, there is information from many a sources that many are absconding and planning for bigger damage. i wish the dead Indian intelligence works.

Just 10 people caused all that destruction...

How many simultaneous attacks at the beginning?

Just 10 people did such awful scene....because all of us thought about ourselves and depend on our goverment and "Man in Uniform".  Rather than we think we have to do something we thought somebody else should do something to save us...so first we'll have to be independent in terms of our security or life...only we are, who can help our goverment and our soldiers to save our country. Hail India!

If you read the India Times yesterday, they already have the names....maybe they lived or were in Mumbai previously, but the weapons and the 10 men came by boat. Where they originated from is still questionable. They may have also lived in London for awhile.

Time will give us the answers.

The thing to do is not to give them all the attention they wanted to get from this.

It's done.

It's over.

There are terrible things happening almost everywhere.

Even in Afghanistan.

Do you not think the dismissive attitude is part of the problem? It's done, it's over with, and bad things happen everywhere may be a true enough statement, however if we do not continue to feel the rage about such actions, we will never stop it. If the life goes on attitude becomes the norm, may God, (no matter who your God may be) help us all.

Blinded by idiology, led with pathetic promises of everlasting bounties, (72 virgins and all that), these misguided sheep, exolting the life of a paedophile called Mohammad who groomed a 6 years old child that he then married at aged 9, her name was Aisha - see Sahih Bukhari) deserve no mercy.

Idiots quoting snippets from a book of mostly nonesense will only get inflamed by my comments. Of that, I have no regeret.

The sooner this backward looking faith is reformed the safer the world will be.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people living and visiting Mumbai. I cannot comprehend the thought that someone is doing this terror in the name of religion. I do not believe that any God, no matter what your religion, would condone these actions. The taking of any child's life; innocent beings in this world who have caused no harm to anyone, should be admonished by the world. The world as we knew it, is changing before our very eyes. We must band together and fight these Islamic radicals. Root them out, turn them in to the proper authorities of your countries. This is the only way to stop them.

It doesn't take many people to cause such distress and terror. It was estimated that only 19 terrorists were directly involved with 9/11. It is the organizers behind the scenes that mastermind such horrible attacks. Has there been any news on why the attacks happened in Mumbai or what they were trying to achieve?

Two Canadians are now confirmed to be among the dead:

Following an early morning announcement that one Canadian had died in the attacks, Cannon issued another statement around 8 p.m. ET that said a second person was now confirmed dead.

No details were immediately available, including the person's identity.

"I offer my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased," Cannon said in a statement. "The next of kin have been notified, and our consular officers have put themselves at their service."

This has nothing to do with religion.

Do you really think the people in Pakistan or anywhere in the world have anything to gain from this other than elements within your own country who wish to create chaos and extreme anger between Muslims and Hindu's.

Remember... The ATS recently discovered that local Hindu extremists, including Army officials and Holy men and tained young terrorists were infact behind the Malagoan bombings which was initally blamed on Muslims. Now the ATS chief who was heading that investigation was shot dead in the Mumbai attacks.

Snap out of your zombie state.

I'm sorry but this whole scene is too surreal to believe.  Are we supposed to believe that a mere 10 individuals managed to terrorize 7 different locations, including two enormous luxury hotels ... kill 170 people and wound 330 others and, in the process, manage to avoid capture for nearly 3 days?  Something stinks to high heaven here.

It reads like a H(B?)ollywood production... I don't buy it.

Amy Judd

I can believe it because an unexpected attack can do much more damage in a shorter amount of time than we might think.

It's not like anyone was expecting this.

0
René

Uh...not really. they had warnings and the warnings not heeded, according to locals. Sound familiar?

Amy Judd

But no one actually believes something like this is going to happen - I think

Its amazing how the the whole indian media has investigated the plot based on the interrogation from one man who hours after killing dozens of men has supposedly cracked and is speaking non-stop.

0
yans

Im just confused that everything goes to media directly they should not admit that they capture him and try to strike back they had an opportunity to catch terrorist leaders or they playing another game there is a lot of options
