OPINION PIECE:
No-one but Hezbollah is going to miss Mughniyeh - least of all, the ghosts of those people he has murdered in the past - or had murdered by his own order.
This man was ruthless - a barbaric animal who made his life's work the destruction of life and property and the annihilation of Israel.
For 25 years, Hizbullah operations chief Imad Mughniyeh was one of the world's most wanted terrorists, involved in endless attacks against Israel and the United States, including the abduction of two IDF reservists in 2006 and the bombing of US embassies in Africa.
So who finally had him murdered? Despite my loathing of terrorists, it wasn't me - I was here and I had witnesses! ;)
Israel’s military intelligence service, Aman, suspects that Iraq is the state that sponsored the suicide attacks on the New York Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington.Directing the mission, Aman officers believe, were two of the world’s foremost terrorist masterminds: the Lebanese Imad Mughniyeh, head of the special overseas operations for Hizbullah, and the Egyptian Dr Ayman Al Zawahiri, senior member of Al-Qaeda and possible successor of the ailing Osama Bin Laden.
Syria has said it will soon present "irrefutable" proof of who was behind the killing of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh in the capital, Damascus.
Mughniyeh had been one of America's most wanted men - and it had been kept from the public and by extension, out of the media. Atrocious behavior to say the least. The public had a RIGHT to know about this terrorist!
Unsurprisingly, in fact expected, Lebanon's Hezbollah are now calling for revenge against their sworn enemy - Israel.
Somehow I don't think this come as news to Israel, since they are already mobilizing at the Lebanon border to protect themselves against cross border attacks. Israeli Army Chief, Lieutenant General Gaby Ashkenazi has ordered forces on alert to protect the border.
Beware Hezbollah - your days are numbered.
The Shi'ite Muslim Hezbollah arm, have erected their black flags along the top railings of a minaret in the southern Lebanese village of Tair Debba. They have also displayed portraits of past Hezbollah members who they refer to as "martyrs".
Even Iran's Postal Service, is getting in on the act and has already commissioned Yahya Rahim Safavi who is currently the top advisor to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to create and issue stamps in Tehran with a bearded image of the "martyr" in a military uniform and hat.
Thankfully, I know no-one in Iran, or that stamp might just end up in a fire, burning and sizzling as is fit.
A very familiar and expected face at the funeral, was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who delivered one of his impassioned if not dull and boring speeches during the funeral.
I was surprised to hear that Hezbollah had already appointed a successor - they usually take time over such things - and you can bet he'll be wanting to make a name for himself with a successful war against Israel. Terrorists are all about ego, power and getting what they want or killing for it.
Did Israel have anything to do with this evil man's demise? I honestly don't know, but it doesn't look good for them when they were already responsible for the 1992 assassination of Hezbollah's former leader - Abbas Mussawi.
It's really a shame that Israel would have looked so bad in the eyes of the world if they'd dropped a bomb on the funeral - the guest list might have wiped out all the heads of Hezbollah, including Hezbollah's Chief Deputy, leader Sheikh Naim Kassem, Iran's Foreign Minister, Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and probably more Hezbollah agents that we can imagine.
As posters of all past "martyrs" were paraded in the streets, literally hundreds of thousands of people filled central Beirut.
As I present my opinions here on Hezbollah - I don't particularly single them out - I despise terrorism of all kinds - and I will continue to batter them and other terrorists publicly for as long as it takes.
I had no-one that I knew in the New York towers, but this was a personal oath taken by me after 9/11.
I will be following this story up with a full profile on Mughniyeh.
After everything I've written, this may sound a little contradictory - but to Fayez Moughniyah the terrorist's father, I offer my sincere condolences, no father should ever have to bury a son.
