A Cargo Plane Crash On a Mountainside Outside of Kabul Afghanistan, Has Killed All Passengers

NATO's International Security Assistance Force reported that the crash happened just before 8 pm, about 30 km east of Kabul International Airport, around Mahipar Mountain.

CNN reports that the plane took off from Bagram air base and was heading for Kabul Airport, but it is not known what caused the crash at this time. .

A spokesperson from Afghanistan's Ministry of Civil Aviation and Transport said that all seven people on board were killed in the accident, and all of them were foreigners. It is not known who was on board the aircraft or where they were from.

"Early reports indicate the plane is an L-100 Hercules aircraft, the civilian equivalent of a military C-130," the statement said. ISAF said the airport is expected to remain open.

A search is underway.
