Kameron Slade's Speech was Banned from His School, but Lives Forever on the Internet

5th grader Kameron Slade wrote a speech on marriage equality as part of a contest at his school, PS 125 in Queens.

While Kameron Slade won the class competition, PS 125 banned him from delivering the speech as part of the schoolwide competition. Slade was told he had to change his topic, which, leaving aside the obvious censorship issue, strikes us as unfair: Kameron would then be at a disadvantage against the other kids, who presumably carried on with the speeches they'd used earlier.

The school's argument is that same-sex marriage is an "adult conversation"; clearly nobody on the PS 125 staff actually listened to Kameron Slade's speech the first time around. Indeed, Slade has a pretty solid grasp of the issue, and its fundamentally non-controversial nature.

Sorry, PS 125, but here's Kameron Slade's speech, for all to see and hear. Slade delivered his speech to NY1, who delivered it to you.

Fashion-wise, Kameron Slade is clearly on the Russell Westbrook track.
