Describing the Indian propaganda campaign to malign Pakistan as deplorable and disappointing, Islamabad on Wednesday confirmed that Ajmal Kasab, the only gunman arrested by the Indian authorities for involvement in the Mumbai attacks, is a Pakistani national.

Foreign Office spokesman confirmed on Wednesday that Ajmal Kasab is a Pakistani national.

Federal Information minister says an investigation has revealed that the lone surviving Mumbai gunman is a Pakistani citizen, as India has alleged.
Information Minister Sherry Rehman confirmed Kasab was a Pakistani in a text message but gave no other details, said a foreign news agency.

Foreign Office spokesman has said that the propaganda campaign launched by India to malign Pakistan is disappointing, adding that Indian reports on Mumbai attacks are being examined seriously.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the spokesman said Pakistan is committed to uncover all facts about Mumbai attacks. He, however, said that trades of accusations and blame game are unacceptable. Such action could only lead to negative implications, the spokesman said.
The statement said cooperation between the concerned institutions of two countries is essential for the elimination of terrorism and to safeguard the two countries from terrorist attack in future.
The spokesman said Pakistan wants solid evidences of the Mumbai attacks.
