NP Rank:
Kate and Gerry McCann to be cleared of any involvement in Maddy disappearance
There has been some disagreement over whether the Portuguese investigation into the dissapearance of British child Madeline McCann has been 'closed,' . The Portuguese police are reportedly about to clear the girl's parents as possible suspects.
Kate and Gerry McCann are set to be cleared of any involvement in the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.
The 426-day police investigation into the four-year-old's case ended yesterday and detectives are thought to have found nothing linking the couple to her death or abduction.
The McCanns, who have vowed to never give up the search for their daughter, are now desperately hoping they will be allowed to see police files for information on potential leads.
A source close to the family said: "If the case is shut without charges being brought, they cannot be arguidos, suspects, any more.

"The mood music we are getting from Portuguese authorities is they will effectively be cleared.
