Katherine Nadal, 28, from Houston, Texas, was sentenced to 99 years in jail after cutting off her five weeks old infant son's genitals. She blamed the dog, a 6-pound dachshund. Nadal was also fined $10,000. She is eligible for parole after 30 years in prison.

The incident took place in March 2007 while Katherine Nadal was under the influence of several drugs. The day after the boy was mutilated, Nadal tested positive for cocaine, methadone and Xanax. The severed gentals were never found.

The boy's father, Camden Gothia, told jurors that he and Katherine Nadal had been arguing about whether the boy should be circumcised. The father was against it. Gothia was at work when boy was injured. They are no longer together.
