Kayleah Wilson Was Found Dead on Wednesday May 19 In an Irrigation Canal - Now Police Are Searching For Her Killer
Kayleah Wilson went missing almost two months ago when she was on her way to a friend's birthday party in Greeley Colorado; her badly decomposed body was found on Wednesday May 19 in an irrigation canal. Police have not said how she died, but they are now on the hunt for her killer or killers.
They did not know if Kayleah had run away or if foul play was involved in her disappearance according to KMGH Denver, but now that her body as been discovered and an autopsy has been conducted, police have renewed the case to determine what happened to the 12-year-old.
"We've got a lot of work to do now," Police Chief Jerry Garner said at a Thursday briefing.
"We need information, even if seems like something we already know," Garner said. "We encourage people to keep calling us with information and we need everything we can get."
Police have not stated if they have a suspect or not, but they have talked to all registered sex offenders in the area. They also plan to re-interview Kayleah's former 17-year-old boyfriend, who Kayleah had split up with shortly before she went missing.
