Khan of Kalat seeks US, EU help on Baluchistan

The De Jure ruler of Baluchistan, Khan of Kalat Suleman Daud has rejected the idea of any talks with Pakistan minus international mediation and has vowed to knock the doors of the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

He said any Baluch talks with their tormentors in Islamabad will have to be mediated by the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

On his maternal side, the Khan of Kalat has close blood relations with the last king of Afghanistan, Zahir Shah.

The Khan of Kalat has clearly said Baluch have just one demand: independence. In an interview, the De Jure Ruler of Baluchistan has also offered good neighborly relations with Punjab as sovereign states, after reverting Baluchistan to the status it enjoyed before March 27, 1948 -- an independent state.

On that date, at the point of gun Pakistan army forced his grandfather the late Mir Ahmedyar Khan to sign a so-called Instrument of Accession with Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The signature was forced is clear from the fact that they are signed on different dates by Ahmedyar Khan and Jinnah.

His grand uncle, Prince Agha Abdul Karim Khan was the first to rise in revolt against the illegal annexation of Baluchistan with Pakistan in March 1948 and spent nearly two decades in Pakistani jails.

He has accused the Pakistan army of committing war crimes against his people.

The Khan of Kalat called a historc jirga after the killing of former chief minister and governor of Baluchistan, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, on August 26 2006.

The jirga demanded stationing of NATO troops in Baluchistan and asked the international community to ensure that the military assistance being provided to Pakistan in the name of the war on terror should not be used on the people of Baluchistan.

The jirga was attended by political heavyweights and tribal chieftains of Baluchistan, including the present governor Nawab Zulfikar Magsi and chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, who roundly condemned Pakistan's policies in Baluchistan and demanded political independence for Baluchistan.

The De Jure Ruler of Baluchistan, Khan of Kalat Suleman Daud, has rejected offers from Islamabad to return to Pakistan and has vowed to knock the doors of the International Court of Justice to get the legitimacy and sovereign status of Baluchistan recognized.

The Khan of Kalat asked how could he trust President Asif Ali Zardari's assurances when Zardari himself does not trust Pakistani institutions and has asked the United Nations to conduct a probe into the killing of his wife, twice prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The Khan of Kalat is appealing to Western governments to join hands with the secular people of Baluchistan, in stead of relying on the army GHQ in Islamabad, to deal a definitive blow to the Taliban forces.

However, the Baluch militants grouped under the Baluchistan Liberation Army and Baloch Republican Army, who are engaged in a hit-and-run operations against the Punjabi dominated army in Baluchistan, accuse most of the tribal chieftains of being cowards and opportunists.

Though both Governor Magsi and Chief Minister Raisani are powerful tribal chieftains, they appear to suffer from political castration when it comes to facing the machinations of the infamous Inter Services Intelligence; abduction of Baluch youth by Pakistan secret services is common and on Friday student leader Qambar Chakar was abducted in Quetta.

He is the third to "disappear" in about one month.

Im tired of hearing third rated politicians like the khan of kalat complaining about their plight. What has he done himself for his own people or for that sake the erstwhile bugti. Fact of the matter is that these so called leaders continue to pilfer state grants on their own benefits and start singing nationalistic themes when they want some more money from the government. The Khan does not need the EU or the US for assistance he just needs to try his luck with his looted millions in Macau or Las Vegas. Spare us the bull shit....................

When the father of a so called Islamic republic loved English Scotch and drank himself to death, then what would be the history of the republic, When 100,000 trained crack commandos surrendered in a SINGLE day to its so called enemy then it is easy to understand why its politicians have sold themselves to the terrorists. The whole world teats <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Pakistan’s with contempt and treats them the same way as it would with any criminal. This is the reason why the Pakistani government allows America to bomb its own citizens; it is the only way they can save themselves? The whole of Pakistan today is a huge garbage dump and all of the bull shit that Pakistani’s accuse others of, could be found in one big dump in Islamabad, Has any Pakistani smelt this?

It is time now that all Kashmiri's learn about the true facts of the freedom movement by the Baluch's. It will lay bare the treacherous intentions of the Pakistani’s. When a state cannot provide legitimate freedom to its own people then by what pretentions can it help the Kashmiri's have the so called freedom? <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Pakistan does have double standards. Let’s pray that the brave people of NWFP and Sind also get their freedom from the evil clutches of Pakistan
