Khandelwal, Ram Niwas Take CM’s Urban Vision at Colombo

Colombo (I-Haryana News): Haryana Government on Wednesday shown its willingness to transform research in urban development sector in real time tool for future urban planning in the state, when Dr. K K Khandelwal Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana along with Mr Ram Niwas, Principal Secretary Urban Development Department Haryana attended the conference organized by Jameel Poverty Action Lab USA in collaboration with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at Sri Lankan Capital Colombo.

The Urban Service Conference was held in Colombo to identify and evaluate innovative solutions to the problems of inadequate access to urban water, sanitation, and hygiene services in cities in Asia and Africa, especially in neighbourhoods with concentration of poor people.

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda in his message delivered in his absence in conference  has urged the scientists that research need not be purely academic, but be translated into practice by taking it from lab to field.

The conference has been organised by Jameel Poverty Action Lab USA in collaboration with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation In this conference researchers, economists, political scientists from Harvard University, Brown University, Yale University, Oxford University, MIT, Cornell University experts and public administration practitioners from Mexico, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Srilanka, Morrocco and many others from Africa, Asia and Latin American countries are participating.
