MUSSOORIE, 16 Oct: Ravindra Jugran, the Vice President of the Youth Welfare Board of Uttarakhand reiterated the fact that the Khanduri led government was sensitive to the need for employment generation in the state.
He said the Chief Minister was concerned about the migration problem and the best effort was being made to curb this menace. Speaking to Garhwal Post during his visit here, Jugran said that the Chief Minister personally was keeping track of the employment generation schemes.
Regarding 70% reservation for employees from Uttarakhand in industry, he said the Chief Minister and the government were monitoring the situation with keen eyes. No violation would be tolerated and stringent action would be taken in this matter. He further added that Government was acting strictly against industries that were in the state to merely reap benefit of the tax holiday and had opened one office instead of full manufacturing units. He said the previous government had not taken any notice of this issue, but the present government was considering canceling the license of such perpetrators.
On the question of trained personnel in the hotel sector, Jugran said it was very important for the youth of the state to receive training in tourism related jobs in the state, for which he said more ITIs were required and the government was working in that direction. He also said that proper Human Resources will be developed and his Youth Welfare Board was working in tandem with the government on this issue.
Expressing the failure of the government on the Nano issue, he said that Gujarat had the best infrastructure. He was happy that if not Uttarakhand, the Tatas had selected another BJP ruled state. He claimed that infrastructure development work for the industries was on in full swing and within few years, Uttarakhand would be competing with Gujarat. The Mussoorie Uttarakhand Andolankaris who faced the CBI inquiry presented a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister seeking financial assistance. The memorandum was presented by 14 activists led by Subhasini Barthwal, member of the Palika Mussoorie.
