Killing ultimatum: Ban urged to talk with Baluch leaders directly

Kidnappers of John Solecki, UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Quetta, have given a final four-day ultimatum to the United Nations to ask Islamabad about more than a thousand missing Baluch civilians.

Major General Saleem Nawaz, the paramilitary Frontier Corps involved in bloodbath against Baluch freedom fighters in Texas-sized Baluchistan, earlier put the blame for the kidnapping of Solecki on a young nationalist leader, Nawab Brahamdagh Bugti.

The Pakistani army general is simply lying is clear as Bugti had not once, but twice, condemned the kidnapping of Solecki and said it violated the Baluch tribal tradition of not harming civilian guests.

Pakistan's home minister Rahman Malik, well-known for making millions in the Iraqi oil-for-food-scam, is not forthcoming about the missing persons who have simply disappeared in restive Baluchistan province-- the area-wise largest province trying to break away from crisis-torn Pakistan, reeling under misrule of "Mr. Ten Percent", President Asif Ali Zardari.

Tales of Pakistan army brutalities in Baluchistan has left the civil society in Pakistan horrified.

"It is horrifying and we are trying hard to confirm," Asma Jahangir, chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, said from Lahore, about the use of Baluch women as sex slaves.

Former governor and chief minister of Baluchistan, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, 79, in his final interview [included herewith] before being killed by Pakistan army in aerial bombardment on August 26, 2006 said the Baluch struggle was for becoming the masters of their own destiny.

Overwhelming majority of Baluch people want the UN to intervene in Baluchistan.
