Kim Jon Nam, the eldest son of the current North Korean leader, has said that he's not interested in succeeding his father, Kim Jong Il to lead the country.

Kim Jon Nam spoke to TV Asahi in Macau and said he had no interest in politics.

"Personally, I am not interested in this issue (succession)," he reportedly told the Japanese broadcaster. "Sorry, I am not interested in the politics."

Kim Jon Il suffered a stroke last year according to most reports and there were even rumours that he had died.
Earlier in April he named his youngest son, Kim Jong Un, to head North Korea's National Defense Commission, and also his brother-in-law who would act as the head until Kim Jong Un came of age.
"I hear that news in the media," Kim Jong Nam told TV Asahi. "I think it's true … however, it is my father's decision. So once he decides, we have to support him."
