Kirstie Foster Did Not Die in Front of Her Computer Headmaster Reveals

The headmaster of Ellesmere College, where tragic 15 year-old Kirstie Foster was a £16,500 per year student, Brendan Wignall, has revealed that the girl was not sitting in front of her PC when she was believed to have been shot dead. Kirstie is believed to have been killed by her father, ruined businessman Christopher Foster, 55, on a rampage after piling up debts of £2m. Police believe they have found her remains in the burnt-out shell of the family's 18th Century mansion.
It was believed that Kirstie had been on the internet at 1:00am on bebo social network pages and her final words had been "I owe you love, Kirstie" to her boyfriend on the fateful night. The power had been suddenly cut off, according to reports. The house was burnt down by Kirstie's father at 4:00 a.m on 26th August 2008.
Mr. Wignall has also revealed that the house had not been boarded up from the inside just before the fire, as had been widely circulated in the press.
Kirstie Foster's body has not yet been formally identified.
Mr Wignall said there were a number of rumours circulating and being published about the tragedy.
He said "I can quite confidently dispel some of the rumours that are circulating about the tragedy. Kirstie was not sat at her computer when her father shot her and the house was not barricaded, the gates to the property were blocked but the house was not boarded up.
"I confidently believe that Kirstie was asleep when her father killed her and would not have been aware of what was happening," he said.
Mr Wignall said the school had not been aware of the Foster's financial difficulties.
He said: "I never divulge any of the college's financial details but as I have given evidence to the police, which will come out at the inquest, I can say that the Foster family never had any problem paying the school fees and were always up to date."
